HOW IT WILL WORK

Artomatic 419 is NW Ohio's largest non-juried art show. This year it will take place on April 2nd, 9th and 16th in downtown Toledo. Visit www.artomatic419.org for more information.

On your way to Artomatic 419 you are greeted at the information tent outside of the building at 407 Washington St. A tabletop display there explains that there have been reports of paranormal activity in this building. No concrete evidence has been found to support these claims. As you prepare to enter the building, you notice a piece of what appears to be a journal entry sticking out from under the tabletop display. It reads:

March 19th, 1890
After several attempts I was finally able to make contact today. I must admit, at first I thought I would never get my breakthrough, but spirits all have their reasons for lingering. This one it turns out has a soft spot for young children. While communicating with the spirit I set out a photograph of my daughter Emily in the hope that if this is William, he would recognize her as a token of peace. It took her photograph, twirling it softly in the air until it disappeared before my eyes. The spirit must not be William after all, he would have just as soon torn the picture up before my eyes...

Included in the note is a lead to follow. From here your journey begins. Follow the trail of clues left behind in six pieces of this mysterious journal. Each piece will lead you to an artist's space within the building - often with a puzzle to solve in order to extract the next journal entry.

When you've retrieved the last journal entry, submit all of the pieces you've collected to the Studio Que space for an entry form. The form will enter you into the nightly drawing for some great prizes - including artwork and products from participating artists as well as gift certificates to locally owned restaurants and shops. Also on your entry form, you will be asked to make a decision based on the journal entries you've uncovered. We will tally the decisions and post the conclusion of the story online, based on which decision was the most popular. You have a voice in the outcome of this adventure.
