HISTORY
In 2001, friends and fellow musicians Ryan Forquer and Luke Nostrant began creating hip hop beats together under the name theNaturalists. The next five years saw them focused on developing their craft by producing songs with local lyricists. That development time allowed Ryan and Luke to flourish creatively, resulting in the decision to create their own album – a cohesive project in which they could control the sound from start to finish.
Following the tragic passing of Luke in 2006, Ryan made a decision to continue working under the name theNaturalists to see their combined vision to completion. theNaturalists are one man: Ryan Forquer – but theNaturalists will always be two, as the spirit of Luke Nostrant lives on through their music.
theNaturalists are every artist that Luke and Ryan have worked with to produce a recording. theNaturalists are the essence of soulful music in all genres, building on the sounds of the past to create something new. theNaturalists are singular and plural.
